The eggs are in pearl-like color and are about 1 mm long, hatch within one to two weeks.

The newly hatched bed bug can start sucking blood immediately and after 4 to 5 instar fully matured. Between each instar and molt they shed their skin (sign of its activities) and required blood meal for a successive molting stage. The optimum growth temperature is 70-90F and with continuous feeding and complete life cycle within 5 to 6 months. However, they can live more than a year without feeding when in a dormant state. In absence of feeding or hos the young or nymphs can survive months without and the adults above a year.
